App purpose
Ayat ul Kursi is a free Islamic app for listening to, reading, and reflecting on Āyat al-Kursī (Sūrah Al-Baqarah, verse 255). It provides multiple reciters, recitation audio, Arabic text, transliteration, translations in several languages, summarised tafseer, and virtue/ḥadīth cards, together with playback features such as repeat modes, a repeat counter, a sleep timer, playback speed, offline downloads, and background playback with lock-screen controls. The app currently has no accounts, no payments or subscriptions, and no ads.
User responsibilities
You agree to use the app only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You are responsible for your device, your internet connection, and any data charges incurred when streaming or downloading audio. You agree to treat the Qur’anic and religious content within the app with the respect it deserves.
Islamic content disclaimer
The religious content in the app — including Arabic Qur’anic text, transliteration, translations, tafseer summaries, and virtue/ḥadīth cards — is provided for your benefit, learning, and convenience. It is general information and is not a religious ruling (fatwā), and it is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified scholar. Always consult a knowledgeable, trustworthy scholar for your specific situation.
Translation, tafseer & ḥadīth verification
We take care to source religious content responsibly. Translations are renderings of meaning and may differ between scholars; tafseer entries are summaries of larger works; and some translations, tafseer summaries, and ḥadīth references are still being verified against authoritative sources and may be corrected or refined in future updates. We provide this content in good faith but cannot guarantee it is free from error, and we are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on it. If you notice an error, please contact us so we can review it.
Audio & API availability
Recitation audio is fetched from third-party sources, including the AlQuran.Cloud API (https://api.alquran.cloud/) and its content delivery network. These services are operated independently of us. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content, and audio streaming or downloading may be unavailable, delayed, or interrupted for reasons outside our control. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms.
Offline downloads — personal use
The app lets you download recitation audio for offline, personal listening only. Downloaded audio remains the property of its respective rights holders. You may not extract, copy, redistribute, broadcast, sell, or otherwise make available the downloaded audio outside the app, except where expressly permitted by the rights holder or applicable law.
Intellectual property
The Ayat ul Kursi app, including its name, design, user interface, original text, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. The Qur’anic text, recitations, translations, and tafseer provided through the app remain the property of their respective authors, reciters, publishers, and licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer (except where permitted by law), resell, or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law or the relevant licence.
Prohibited uses
You agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or the services it connects to;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent permitted by law;
- scrape, bulk-download, or place excessive load on the audio sources the app relies on;
- remove or alter any credit, attribution, or proprietary notice;
- use the app or its content in a way that is disrespectful to the Qur’an or contrary to its sacred nature.
“As is” — no warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or always available, or that any content is complete or accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, the unavailability of audio or third-party services, or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
App Store & Google Play terms
If you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store’s terms. For Apple: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance, and is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce these Terms; in the event of any failure of the app to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any), and to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple will have no other warranty obligation.
