About the app

Nūr is a free, ad-free Muslim daily-companion app offering prayer times, the Qur’an, Qibla direction, duʿās and azkār, a tasbīḥ counter, a Zakat calculator, mosque and halal finders, a Hajj & Umrah guide, the 99 Names of Allah, a Hijri calendar and related features.

Your licence to use Nūr

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Accuracy of content — please read

We take care to source religious content responsibly, but you should keep the following in mind:

We provide this content in good faith but cannot guarantee it is free from error, and we are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on it.

“As is” — no warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available, or that any content is complete or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app or reliance on its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Donations

Donations to support Nūr are entirely voluntary. They are processed by third-party providers (such as PayPal or cryptocurrency networks) and are subject to those providers’ own terms. Donations are not refundable and do not unlock any features — the app is, and remains, completely free for everyone. We do not receive your full payment details.

Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services (listed in our Privacy Policy) to deliver certain features. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of those services, which are governed by their own terms and policies.

Intellectual property

The Nūr name, logo, design and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Religious texts, translations, audio and data provided by third parties remain the property of their respective owners and are credited within the app. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law or the relevant licence.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by attempting to interfere with its operation, reverse-engineer it except where permitted by law, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Changes

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [ jurisdiction — England], and any disputes will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, except where local law gives you other rights.
